Collin Morikawa among the favorites at Sony Open coming off strong performance at Kapalua

The first full field PGA Tour event of 2021 is upon us, as Waialae Country Club will host the Sony Open for a 51st consecutive year. The Hawaiian Open dates back to 1965 (the event was skipped in 1970), and though this year’s field might lack a bit in starpower (only five of the top 20 players in the world are playing), this event usually produces a thrilling finish—three of the past five Sony Opens have gone into a playoff.

Fresh off his first win since 2013, Harris English is one of the co-favorites at Waialae, along with a pair of other players who played at last week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions—Collin Morikawa and Webb Simpson. Morikawa contended last week before fading with a final-round 73, but he should be a factor at this course that emphasizes iron precision. Simpson has top-five finishes in his two most recent appearances (2020 and 2018), so his 14-1 odds are also justified.

Defending champion Cam Smith, who finished runner-up at the Masters in November, has some inviting odds at 28-1. Sungjae Im, also a runner-up at Augusta National, is just above him at 22-1.

Here are the complete list of odds for the 2021 Sony Open.
