Farmers Insurance Open 2021 odds: Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy open as slight favorites

There is one huge name—Tiger Woods—not in the field list below after his fifth back surgery was announced last week. The 15-time major champion was expected to make his 2021 debut at Torrey Pines, site of eight career victories, but the attention will go elsewhere as Woods recovers from that surgery. It’s still a stellar field—with 13 of the top 25 in the World Golf Rankings opting to play the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open, as players get a bit of a sneak peek at the venue for the 2021 U.S. Open.

Jon Rahm opens as the slight favorite over Rory McIlroy, both of whom have stellar records at Torrey. Rory has played this event each of the past two years, with a T-5 finish in 2019 and a T-3 in 2020. But Rahm’s is slightly better, with a win in 2017, a runner-up last year (he was the 54-hole leader) and a T-5 in 2019. Marc Leishman, who started four back of Rahm last year before going on to win, is 40-1 and is coming off a top-10 finish at the Sony Open a few weeks ago.

Here are the complete odds for the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open field (odds courtesy of PointsBet, as of Monday afternoon):

Charles Howell III: 120-1

Kristoffer Ventura: 300-1

Sebastian Cappelen: 500-1
