Korda will lead Team USA golf for Paris Games

World No. 1 Nelly Korda will lead the U.S. women’s golf team at the Olympic Games this summer in Paris.

USA Golf announced Tuesday that Lilia Vu and Rose Zhang will round out the roster.

Korda is the defending gold medalist from the Tokyo Games, while Vu and Zhang will make their Olympic debuts.

“I’m honored to represent the United States once again on the Olympic stage this summer in Paris,” Korda said. “Winning the gold medal in Tokyo was a dream come true and an incredible highlight to my career. I’m looking forward to defending my gold medal and bringing home some more hardware for Team USA.”

Korda, Vu (World No. 2) and Zhang (No. 9) qualified for Team USA based on their standing in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings at the close of the Olympic qualification period. It ended with last weekend’s KPGA Women’s PGA Championship, where Vu finished second.

“These three women enter Olympic golf competition with a combined eight victories on the LPGA Tour this season and are poised to reach the podium in Paris,” USA Golf executive director Andy Levinson said.

The women’s golf competition is scheduled for Aug. 7-10 at Le Golf National outside Paris. A field of 60 players will participate in a 72-hole, stroke-play format.

The men’s competition runs Aug. 1-4 at the same venue, with Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa making up the U.S. squad.
